About the Role
Join a family-run group of Montessori nurseries with over 30 years of experience. We are seeking an experienced Chef to work as a Float Nursery Cook / Kitchen Assistant, providing cover across our 7 London locations. This role offers variety, guaranteed hours, and the opportunity to work in different environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious, high-quality food for young children.
- Support kitchen teams with food preparation, organisation, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Adapt to different kitchens and teams.
- Step into whatever is needed on the day.
- Understand and follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Contribute to a safe environment where children's wellbeing always comes first.
Requirements
- Experienced Chef.
- Passionate about food and takes pride in their work.
- Warm, reliable, and adaptable.
- Comfortable working across different kitchens and with different teams.
- Organised, energetic, and enjoys staying busy.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced in professional kitchen environments.
- Committed to excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
- Interested in working with young children and learning about early years food provision.
- Ability to understand and follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Must pass enhanced DBS, references, and right-to-work checks.
