About the Role
As a Runner at Soho House, you will play a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. You will be responsible for delivering food and beverages promptly, maintaining cleanliness, and organization across service areas, and assisting waiting staff to ensure members receive a superior experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to members’ tables.
- Deliver drinks orders from the bar to members’ tables.
- Act as a point of contact between the kitchen/bar and the floor.
- Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment.
- Provide service and be accountable for an assigned section.
- Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
- Polish cutlery ensuring they are ready for service.
- Prepare additions to tables in advance (e.g., lemon wraps, condiments, butter portions).
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including station setup and breakdown.
- Ensure all service equipment is handled carefully and stored correctly.
- Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu changes and specials.
- Participate in daily tastings.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar high-end dining environment.
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a hands-on approach.
- Confident, polished, and professional demeanor.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.
