About the Role
The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving the tools, processes, automation, and infrastructure that support application development, deployment, and operation. This hands-on role requires strong experience across DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, and software delivery, working closely with development teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient application environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and ongoing improvement of application infrastructure, cloud environments, deployment processes, and DevOps practices.
- Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Design and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation solutions.
- Take ownership of AWS cloud infrastructure, including design, configuration, deployment, optimization, and support.
- Provide technical leadership in managing and integrating application infrastructure across Windows and Mac environments.
- Collaborate with software developers and stakeholders to identify infrastructure needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
- Support and improve database and data store environments (MySQL 8, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, SQLite).
- Establish and improve reliability, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, infrastructure efficiency, system reliability, security, and developer experience.
- Contribute to application development and code changes as required.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to team members.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies and make recommendations.
- Participate in complex deployments, maintenance activities, and occasional after-hours support.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure, including designing and supporting production environments.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and developer tooling.
- Strong experience working with databases and data stores (MySQL 8, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, SQLite).
- Strong experience working across Windows and Mac environments.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with reliability, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning application, infrastructure, deployment, and production environments.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and its interdependencies.
- Ability to independently assess technical challenges, determine solutions, and manage implementation.
- Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship to other developers or technical team members.
