About the Role

This role involves embedding directly with customers to understand their operations and build AI-powered software solutions that address real-world business challenges. You will lead technical discovery, design and ship full-lifecycle features, and integrate AI services into customer workflows, with a focus on rapid iteration and production-grade reliability.

Responsibilities

Embed with customers to understand their actual operation, including data, constraints, and people.
Lead technical discovery to identify real bottlenecks.
Design and ship full-lifecycle features across front-end and back-end.
Build or extend APIs and event-driven services connecting IFS Cloud and customer systems.
Identify reusable or extendable platform and AI service catalogue components.
Gather requirements and partner with engineering teams to scope and build solutions when necessary.
Work with data pipelines, model serving, retrieval, and evaluation for AI-backed features.
Integrate AI features into real workflows.
Ship a working first version quickly and then harden it with monitoring and feedback loops.
Determine which developed features become permanent product additions.
Communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
Provide input for the roadmap based on field learnings.

Requirements

Demonstrable, hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping production AI applications.
Candidates whose AI experience is limited to using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot without building AI-powered products or systems will not meet requirements.
5+ years building and operating production systems.
Ability to work across an unfamiliar stack or customer codebase.
Strong in at least one modern general-purpose language, with Python included or picked up fast.
Experience building and operating cloud-native services on Azure (AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Azure-hosted AI services).
Experience with LLMs in production applications, including model APIs, auth, gateways, reliability, latency, cost, and observability.
Hands-on experience with agentic applications using tools, APIs, and orchestration frameworks (MCP strongly preferred).
Experience with production retrieval systems, including embeddings, vector stores, indexing, retrieval quality, and evaluation.
Experience with REST, auth/authz, and data contracts.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps/ArgoCD, Terraform or equivalent.
Comfort with data pipelines across relational, document, vector, and object stores.
Pragmatic understanding of event-driven and distributed systems.
Understanding of AI failure modes and quality/latency/reliability/cost trade-offs.
Genuinely fluent with agentic tooling in daily engineering work.
Thrive in ambiguity and can turn vague needs into shipped systems without explicit instructions.
Ability to find solutions when blocked, escalate appropriately, or change approaches.
Ability to build trust with customers quickly through direct communication.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical architects and non-technical personnel.
