About the Role
The Jr. Project Accountant will support billing processes, assist with cost tracking, and maintain accurate financial records in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Responsibilities
- Understand project contract terms and billing requirements to effectively set up a new project in the accounting system.
- Enter the project budget in the accounting system at the start of the project once it has been reviewed and approved by the project management team.
- Prepare draft and final invoices for billable projects.
- Communicate with Project Managers with monthly project variances and resolution of issues.
- Review all sub-consultant invoices for proper coding and ensure they are posted in a timely manner for monthly client billing.
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Assist in processing of employee expenses.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Relevant university degree or college diploma with an accounting focus.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the engineering/architectural/construction industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with Excel.
- Experience with Deltek Vision is an asset but not required.
