About the Role
Ocean Infinity is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build, operate, and evolve the systems, tooling, and infrastructure supporting software delivery and platform operations. This role involves taking ownership of key platform components, improving internal tooling, strengthening observability, and ensuring teams have self-service capabilities. You will report to the Core Engineering Lead and collaborate across the organization to provide technical support and architectural input.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve core platform systems, contributing to architecture and implementation strategy for cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and internal tooling.
- Own and deliver enhancements across infrastructure, deployments, and automation to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop secure, fault-tolerant platform capabilities that are easy for product teams to adopt.
- Create internal tools, services, and workflows to reduce friction and help engineers build, test, and deploy faster.
- Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure visibility and support incident response.
- Investigate and resolve issues across distributed systems, cloud services, networking, and Kubernetes, translating findings into improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support new features, troubleshoot integration issues, and ensure reliable service operation.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies from the cloud-native and DevOps ecosystems to improve delivery speed, reliability, and developer experience.
- Help establish and reinforce patterns for secure, scalable, and well-operated services.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused software development.
- Strong experience with Cloud environments (Azure preferred) and understanding of cloud networking, identity, compute, and storage fundamentals.
- Deep, hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, including deployments, troubleshooting, networking, and day-to-day operations.
- Comfortable running and operating containerized services at scale.
- Confident use of infrastructure-as-code to automate deployments, environments, and operational workflows.
- Experience owning, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, internal tooling, or automation supporting development operations.
- Comfortable troubleshooting issues across distributed systems, networking, containers, and cloud services.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting, and the value of a strong observability setup.
