About the Role
AECOM is seeking a NY/NJ Architecture Designer with flood mitigation experience to lead the development of design criteria for procurement and oversee design implementation during Design-Build for a new program addressing Hurricane Ida damage across multiple NYCHA sites. This role involves managing technical groups, interpreting and executing assignments, and maintaining liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
- Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
- Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems.
- Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
- Manages group of Architecture Designers and/or designers, coordinating activities of the unit.
Requirements
- BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Worked with large NYC agencies and/or developers.
- Licensed Architect in NY.
- Worked as a lead architect on similar large complex projects in NYC.
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
