About the Role
The College and Career Specialist will mentor and track a cohort of club members in college, provide guidance for career explorations, and conduct organizational networking events. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Club Director.
Responsibilities
- Identify members for the College Success Initiative.
- Mentor members through matriculation, class selection, major identification, exam preparation, college life, and other aspects of the college experience.
- Initiate, collaborate, and maintain contacts with family members, schools, and other organizations.
- Ensure timely tracking and measurement of all required aspects and activities of the initiative.
- Organize and execute annual networking events to support cohort identification and connections.
- Ensure members demonstrate strong interview, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment in program areas.
- Meet all deadlines for submitting requested reports.
- Support clubhouse initiatives and events.
- Ensure members create a resume.
Requirements
- A four-year degree from a state-accredited university or college is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in youth development or experience working as a guidance counselor, college admissions, or career coaching with youth ages 18-24.
- Strong written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
- Additional experience with youth including teaching, coaching, mentoring, etc.
