About the Role
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Job Developer will focus on leadership and education development for young people aged 16-24 and their families. This role involves designing and implementing strategies to identify and recruit career-focused work sites for a diverse youth population.
Responsibilities
- Manage and create a portfolio of jobs for teens during the summer.
- Follow through with work sites, completing appropriate documentation to maintain compliance with the DYCD SYEP contract.
- Develop relationships with community groups, organizations, and school personnel, making referrals when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Prior student at a state-accredited university/college.
- Minimum of 2 years in a related field.
- Knowledge of issues facing adolescents.
- Ability to create and implement groups, workshops, and events.
- Must be motivated, creative, and a proactive team player with a “can do” approach.
- Commitment to and belief in the core mission to support young people to and through college.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
