About the Role
The Ibero Project RISE Youth Ambassadors (PRYA) are integral to the youth empowerment initiative under Ibero American Action League’s Project RISE. They provide youth voice, choice, and perspective, aiming to empower the community, promote social-emotional learning, and cultivate dynamic Community Engagement.
Responsibilities
- Engage youth impacted by gun violence in pro-social programming, positive youth development, intergenerational mentoring, and restorative response efforts.
- Provide access to information regarding positive, social events and activities in the Greater Rochester Area and beyond.
- Support the development and implementation of programming that amplifies protective factors and reduces risk factors associated with gun violence.
- Support existing efforts to amplify protective factors and reduce risk factors associated with gun violence.
- Connect youth and families to community members for healthy, rewarding intergenerational relationships.
- Train in and provide restorative services to the community, collaborating with existing restorative teams.
- Work some evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Ibero-American Action League's President & CEO or designee.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled high school students (at least 14 years old).
- A passion for community engagement.
- Must have a work permit at the time of the start date.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
