About the Role
Saab's Surveillance U.S. Division is seeking motivated, enthusiastic Engineering students for a paid Co-Op/Internship opportunity to apply their studies to real-world product development. Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, Software Engineering Co-Ops will actively participate in software development for Radar systems, design and develop modular software, participate in technical meetings and design reviews, and collaborate with the software lead for task planning.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the software development for Radar systems.
- Work with senior software engineers to design and develop modular, configurable software that can be used on multiple programs.
- Participate in internal technical meetings and design reviews.
- Collaborate with software lead for task planning and scheduling of own activities.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program focused in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- Completed Sophomore year or greater at time of hire.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Knowledge of Java or C++ software development, and object-oriented experience.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
