About the Role
The Shopfloor Manager Chemistry (m/f/d) position in Berlin-Zehlendorf is a responsible role on the first management level, characterized by direct communication and interaction with shopfloor employees. The position is also responsible for increasing productivity and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality chemical production processes, contributing to reliable products and satisfied customers.
- Regular presence on the shopfloor, conducting Gemba walks, and providing practical coaching to employees directly in the production environment.
- Technical and disciplinary leadership of a dedicated chemical production team, fostering a culture of collaboration, personal responsibility, and development.
- Supporting and developing employees through regular feedback, coaching, and individual development discussions.
- Responsible personnel and shift planning, considering production requirements, qualifications, and available resources.
- Preparation, moderation, and continuous development of management meetings and shift handovers.
- Analysis of production deviations, derivation of sustainable improvement measures, and utilization of Lean methods and structured problem-solving techniques for continuous process optimization.
- Active participation in cross-departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives for sustainable development and future security of production.
Requirements
- Completed specialized vocational training with further education, such as a Master Craftsman (m/f/d), Technician (m/f/d), or Business Administrator (m/f/d), or a degree in a technical or engineering field.
- Experience in a production environment and ideally first or several years of leadership experience.
- Enjoyment in leading, developing, and supporting employees through clear communication and motivation in their daily work.
- Knowledge of Lean Management, Shopfloor Management, or structured problem-solving methods - or the motivation to deepen these areas.
- Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of being visible, approachable, and present in production as a leader.
- Good English language skills and proficient user knowledge of MS Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Openness to our shift work model, where early and late shifts rotate predictably.
