About the Role
This role involves overseeing the maintenance, testing, and repair of medical equipment within a supportive team environment at NSW's largest private hospital. You will ensure adherence to Australian Standards and NSQHS requirements, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to patient safety and equipment management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, testing, and repair of medical equipment.
- Ensure adherence to Australian Standards and NSQHS requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams.
- Address inquiries regarding medical equipment.
- Inspect new and repaired equipment for safety and functionality.
- Remove unsafe equipment.
- Report equipment issues.
- Provide feedback on potential equipment purchases.
- Perform routine testing in patient areas.
- Maintain accurate service records.
- Order parts for equipment.
- Ensure a clean and compliant workspace.
- Follow Workplace Health and Safety principles.
- Report accidents, injuries, and hazards within 24 hours through Riskman.
Requirements
- Formal Qualifications in Biomedical Engineering.
- Post-qualification experience as a Biomedical Engineer in a hospital environment or service role for a medical device company is ideal, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and their application to medical equipment.
- In-depth understanding of hospital operations and medical equipment.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like MS Dynamics Field Service, or similar.
- Ability to work effectively in a small team within a busy biomedical engineering department.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments.
