About the Role
Susquehanna is seeking an Operations Technology Analyst to join our Trading Operations team. This technology-led role requires strong computer science fundamentals and software development capability to solve complex problems in a global trading environment. You will act as a bridge between business and Technology teams, building solutions and collaborating with engineering teams on larger-scale applications, services, and platforms. The role involves working across the full development lifecycle, including designing solutions with AI considerations from the outset. Rotations across Trading Operations will provide hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of trading activity and an end-to-end understanding of business and technology interactions, with scope to shape Operations Technology capability across APAC.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain technology solutions to improve Trading Operations.
- Translate operational problems and business requirements into effective technical solutions, bridging Trading Operations and Technology teams.
- Develop applications, automate processes, and enhance operational efficiency and controls using Python, SQL, and other technologies.
- Design new solutions incorporating AI into the underlying architecture and identifying AI-native approaches for problem-solving.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, applying engineering principles for architecture, design, scalability, maintainability, testing, and integration.
- Rotate across Trading Operations teams to gain an end-to-end understanding of the trade lifecycle and business processes.
- Support Operations projects and daily activities, identifying opportunities for technology-led improvements.
- Contribute to the growth of Operations Technology capability, tools, and ways of working across APAC.
Requirements
- Typically 3-5+ years of experience in software development, technology-enabled Operations, or a related technical environment.
- Experience taking solutions through the software development lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Financial markets or Trading Operations experience is advantageous.
- Strong programming capability and practical experience with Python, SQL, or other languages and technologies.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, databases, and testing.
- Ability to think beyond immediate code to solution architecture, integration, and maintenance.
- Ability to break complex problems into logical components and work through different approaches.
- Comfortable working through technically and operationally complex problems using data, evidence, and sound reasoning.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, build strong working relationships, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- High standards for oneself, enjoyment of learning, and genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies.
