About the Role
The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in a timely and efficient manner. This role ensures the kitchen is well-stocked with clean dishes and maintains a safe and sanitary environment. The Dishwasher works closely with kitchen staff to support food preparation and service, ensuring a smooth workflow. Attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Load, operate, and unload dishwashers efficiently and safely.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware by hand following established procedures.
- Assist in bussing tables and removing dirty dishes from dining areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area throughout the shift.
- Take out trash and dispose of waste according to company guidelines.
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning tasks as needed (e.g., wiping down counters, sweeping floors).
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor.
Requirements
- Active Food Handler’s License
- Active TABC Certification
- Minimum 3 months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment (Preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods in a warm and potentially wet environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
