About the Role
As a Purina Feed Sales Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in field sales, customer engagement, and market growth within the animal nutrition sector. This role is designed for students to apply their knowledge of animal nutrition to real-world sales scenarios and understand the dealer/cooperative business model.
Responsibilities
- Drive Customer Growth by identifying opportunities within existing accounts, introducing new products, expanding species offerings, and supporting initiatives to increase customer engagement.
- Build a New Business Pipeline by identifying, researching, and engaging prospective customers in targeted species segments.
- Increase Adoption of Priority Product Solutions by analyzing customer buying patterns, developing recommendations, and supporting initiatives that drive product adoption.
- Identify Market Growth Opportunities by evaluating local markets, customer trends, and competitive activity to uncover untapped potential.
- Engage Directly with Producers and Customers through farm visits, meetings, educational events, and feed trials to understand needs and learn how nutrition solutions impact performance and profitability.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in farm environments.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to live within commuting range of assigned dealer/co-op location.
