About the Role
As an MBA intern on the business operations team, you will tackle high-stakes, undefined problems, provide structure, and drive them to completion. You will own a defined slice of the team's current work, such as integrating an acquisition, managing a commercial partnership, or entering a new market, and drive it to a decision.
Responsibilities
- Cover one part of the business for the summer, understanding its plan, unit costs, and tradeoffs.
- Own a discrete project end-to-end, including its forecast, market or product entry, acquisition integration workstream, or scoreboard, and ensure it can run independently.
- Structure problems by defining goals, assigning owners, and creating memos for tradeoffs.
- Build analyses, including models, scoreboards, and one-pagers, and defend assumptions.
- Access and analyze data from the data warehouse, install and market data, and AI tooling.
- Collaborate across functions, including engineering, market operations, manufacturing, accounting, and customer operations, without formal authority.
- Gain practical experience by observing operations, such as riding along on installs, sitting with market operations, and walking the manufacturing floor.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MBA, returning for the second year in the fall.
- 2–5 years of pre-MBA experience.
- Comfort operating without a map; ability to create structure where none exists.
- Low ego, high ownership mentality.
- Fluency in working alongside AI, using it to multiply output and verifying its work.
