About the Role
Peterson is seeking a Building Operator to join our team in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for tenants. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering quality service and maintaining well-run buildings.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, pumps, fire alarms, and automation systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to reduce equipment downtime.
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and after-hours emergency calls on a rotating basis.
- Conduct regular building inspections and recommend system or equipment improvements.
- Maintain building exteriors by addressing litter, snow/ice removal, and minor repairs.
- Support contractors by obtaining quotes and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and building codes.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of building systems, codes, and safe work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Availability for on-call shifts and emergency response.
