About the Role
As Finance Lead, you will build Foresight's in-house finance function from the ground up, covering budgeting, forecasting, accounting, controls, and supporting systems. You will be the first senior finance hire, transitioning from fractional support to a fully owned in-house function. You will partner directly with co-founders and the Chief of Staff to provide clear and reliable financial visibility to the business and the board.
Responsibilities
- Own Foresight's budget and forecast end-to-end, managing the annual and quarterly planning cadence.
- Own key metrics such as ARR, net revenue retention, CAC, burn, and runway, driving decisions based on trends.
- Partner with Sales, Delivery, and Product teams to evaluate unit economics and the ROI of significant expenditures.
- Manage the monthly close process, cash management, and runway tracking, including vendor relationships and bringing work in-house.
- Establish and enhance financial controls and policies for a scaling company.
- Select and implement a scalable finance technology stack, including ERP/accounting, billing, FP&A, expense, and revenue recognition tools.
- Define Foresight's finance operating rhythm from scratch and hire/mentor a small team as the business grows.
- Provide comprehensive financial tracking and visibility into runway and unit economics to the executive team and board.
Requirements
- 8+ years in finance with significant experience in FP&A and enterprise SaaS business models.
- Experience as the senior finance hire at an early- or growth-stage company, having built a finance function previously.
- Experience with international businesses and cross-border transactions.
- Comfort operating across globally distributed, cross-cultural teams.
- Strong command of SaaS metrics and unit economics, with the ability to communicate them to non-finance leaders.
- A builder's mindset, comfortable creating processes, models, and systems in ambiguous environments, with a hands-on approach.
- Direct experience selecting and implementing finance systems (accounting/ERP, billing, FP&A tooling).
- Comfortable driving discovery with senior stakeholders without a clear brief.
- FP&A background with a consulting pedigree (e.g., Deloitte) is a plus.
