About the Role
Drives campus-based delivery solutions by reviewing engineering documentation, site, and building plans. Facilitates project delivery through data-based decisions and oversees procurement activities. Assists in reporting project progress and represents Microsoft as a safety leader.
Responsibilities
- Monitors approved project budgets and suggests adjustments for project controls.
- Partners with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure new processes increase cost savings and improve cycle-time.
- Attends project meetings, advocating for a security-first mindset.
- Facilitates project delivery through timely, data-based decisions.
- Champions team and project goals, adhering to business processes and fostering collaboration.
- Creates and applies best practices to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Applies influence, strategy, and decision-making to drive solutions and manage change.
- Collaborates with internal teams and contractors to maintain corporate vision and goals.
- Oversees timely execution of procurement activities for resources and materials.
- Evaluates resources and ensures adequate staffing and materials for job completion.
- Drives campus-based delivery solutions for new or retrofit data center facilities.
- Analyzes technical information and provides recommendations to support solutions.
- Assists campus teams in establishing goals, assigning responsibilities, and measuring performance.
- Assists with creating and reporting on project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards, and budget.
- Communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics to track progress.
- Suggests actions to support organizational and national safety and security goals.
- Represents Microsoft as a safety leader, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts routine safety, security, project, and contractor audits.
- Participates in incident investigations.
- Reviews engineering documentation, designs, site, and building plans.
- Identifies potential risks and provides recommendations to mitigate risk and improve constructability.
- Ensures solutions adhere to security core priorities and guidelines.
- Aligns project/program delivery with execution procedures, standards, and organizational commitments.
- Advises and monitors vendor and contractor performance, ensuring compliance with policies and contracts.
- Reviews vendor performance relative to cash flow and budget summaries.
- Clarifies vendor performance reports in presentations to delivery and executive teams.
- Reviews and approves vendor scope of work, design review of plans, pay-application, and invoices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
- Business level of Japanese and English language skills.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
