About the Role
Generate Capital is establishing a dedicated equipment sourcing and procurement function to support its power solutions for data centers and infrastructure customers. This role will build and lead this function, moving from reactive to proactive sourcing of new and used power generation equipment.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a proactive, direct-sourcing procurement function for power generation equipment, including prime mover generation (reciprocating engines, gas turbines, fuel cells), and as projects mature, battery energy storage (BESS) and other key electrical equipment.
- Build standing generation optionality matched across a pipeline of projects and customers.
- Map and maintain a comprehensive view of manufacturers, packagers, and financial intermediaries, converting this into an approved vendor list.
- Evaluate equipment options for technical fit, availability, and commercial risk in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Build direct relationships with OEMs and packagers to reduce reliance on brokers and enable direct negotiation.
- Attend industry conferences and trade shows to enhance market visibility.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms directly with manufacturers and packagers.
- Support project delivery teams from Notice to Proceed through Commercial Operation on equipment delivery, warranty administration, and supplier performance.
- Formalize equipment procurement processes, policies, and controls.
- Coordinate with Asset Operations on technical qualification of equipment and suppliers.
- Build a bench of fast-response resources to diligence equipment opportunities and drive decision-making.
- Manage deals from first contact to close independently and confidently.
Requirements
- 10-12 years of experience in power generation, storage, or infrastructure engineering, procurement, or sourcing.
- Experience building a procurement or sourcing function from limited existing infrastructure, including policies, controls, and supporting systems.
- Familiarity with EPC delivery models and owner-furnished equipment arrangements.
- Proven ability to balance innovation with standardization and execution discipline.
- Comfortable operating in a cross-functional environment with commercial, development, and investment teams.
- Clear communicator able to translate technical complexity into actionable business insight.
Skills
- Direct experience sourcing or procuring capital equipment, preferably power generation equipment.
- Direct experience in rotating-equipment markets (reciprocating engines, gas turbines, fuel cells), including new, refurbished, and secondary/used equipment channels.
- Sufficient technical grounding to judge equipment application and acceptability.
- Relationship building and negotiation skills.
- Direct negotiation with manufacturers, packagers, and financial intermediaries.

- $250,000 - $275,000
