Barbier Security Group (BSG) is seeking a qualified Flex Security Officer for various sites in San Francisco. This role involves high visibility, deterrence, patrols, building checks, and community engagement, with a primary focus on perimeter and access control. Security Officers ensure guests and employees feel secure and welcomed, requiring exceptional presentation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Perform regular patrols of assigned areas, including multi-level buildings and outdoor spaces.
Climb stairs frequently to inspect all areas thoroughly.
Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents.
Use manual dexterity to operate security equipment such as radios, keys, and locks efficiently.
Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Utilize strong vision and hearing abilities to monitor surroundings and detect potential security threats.
De-escalate stressful or potentially volatile situations with professionalism and patience.
Maintain focus and remain alert throughout long shifts.
Assist in evacuations or other emergency responses.
Keep accurate and detailed activity logs, documenting all patrols and incidents.
Prepare comprehensive reports for any incidents.
Uphold a professional and positive demeanor at all times.
Adhere to legal standards, company policies, and client-specific protocols.
Maintain grooming and uniform standards consistently.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with the public, clients, and team members.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Eligibility to work in the United States.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Possess a current California Guard Card License.
A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required for applicable sites.
Reliable transportation is necessary.
Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion.
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de-escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures.
Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, often for several hours at a time.
Ability to climb stairs and navigate multi-level buildings.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to withstand various weather conditions during outdoor patrols.
Ability to handle and operate security equipment.
Ability to sprint short distances if needed.
Capable of working long hours while remaining alert and focused.
Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend.
Strong vision and hearing.
Must have the ability to work up to 10-hour shifts any day within a 7-day week.
7-day availability to work Morning, Swing or Grave shift with 16-hour notice.
Weekend availability required.
