About the Role
Atomic is seeking a Trader to make inter-dealer markets in corporate securities. This role involves quoting, executing, and managing risk on corporate bond and equity positions, sourcing liquidity, and facilitating trades. You will help establish day-to-day trading practices, counterparty relationships, and workflows as the company scales its trading and financing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Make inter-dealer markets in corporate securities.
- Quote, execute, and manage risk on corporate bond and equity positions.
- Source liquidity and facilitate trades with counterparties.
- Establish day-to-day trading practices, counterparty relationships, and workflows.
- Quote two-sided markets (bid/offer) and manage resulting inventory risk.
- Trade directly with inter-dealer brokers (IDBs) on matching platforms, sourcing and providing liquidity.
Requirements
- Active Series 57 (Securities Trader Representative) license.
- Direct, hands-on experience making inter-dealer markets in corporate securities.
- Deep understanding and application of Reg NMS, SHO and related regulations.
- Ability to navigate and use Exchange systems for high-touch trading, market making, and risk management.
- Demonstrated experience quoting two-sided markets and managing resulting inventory risk.
- Experience trading directly with inter-dealer brokers (IDBs) on matching platforms.
- Solid understanding of trade reporting, settlement mechanics, and regulatory rules governing inter-dealer trading (FINRA, CAT reporting, best execution).
- Three to five years direct experience in market making and proprietary trading for a broker-dealer in corporate securities.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment with evolving processes.
- Securities lending experience (borrow/loan activity, agent lender relationships, or collateral management) is strongly preferred.
- Repo/reverse repo experience is a bonus.
- Margin lending experience is a bonus.
- S24 license is a bonus.
