About the Role

The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department by ensuring the seamless execution of HR processes and maintaining data integrity across systems. This position is responsible for day-to-day HR support—including data changes through Workday. The generalist also serves as a frontline resource for employee relations matters and incoming HR inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for addressing employee relations matters timely including investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment and other workplace concerns.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and People Managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to Sr. HR Business Partner.
  • Process employee transactions in Workday, including job changes, manager changes, pay increases and terminations, etc.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity by validating and updating employee records and ensuring all HR transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews as required.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners, Benefits, Total Rewards, HRIS, Payroll, and People Managers to support operations team.
  • Manage unemployment claims, including correspondence and documentation requests while ensuring compliance with all applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations and Company policies.
  • Champion QuidelOrtho Culture, Employee Value Proposition and Core Behaviors.
  • Assist with HR related projects as needed.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to understand Federal and New York State employment laws required
  • Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to handle a high volume and fast-paced work environment while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial
  • Must be very well organized, accurate, thorough and monitor work for quality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personalities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel between Rochester sites (4 office locations)
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship
