About the Role
Make an impact bringing your ideas and solving complex problems in a collaborative, supportive team! Work for a leading property brand impacting millions of users!
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of AI solutions using AWS, Docker, Python, BigQuery, and other technologies.
- Apply domain knowledge to extract, manipulate, and process data from multiple sources and assemble datasets for modeling.
- Find or engineer new features for ingestion into PropTrack’s AI platform.
- Prototype and build new statistical and machine learning models to improve model performance.
- Perform hyperparameter tuning and cross-validate model performance.
- Develop and maintain model visualization tools for analytics and business support.
- Document projects and processes on Confluence and Git repositories.
- Present projects within the data science team and to broader REA audiences.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in data science, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline with a numerical/quantitative focus OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of industry experience in Data Science, ML engineering, Data Analyst, or similar roles.
- Expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning theory.
- Strong Python programming skills with the ability to independently write, read, debug, and maintain code.
- Hands-on experience using Python for data science or machine learning, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large or complex datasets.
- Experience building and deploying models to production environments (CI, infrastructure as code, containerization).
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, problem-solving, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
- Exposure to Git and the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence).
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as individually.
- A structured approach to building, testing, and iterating on statistical models.
- Data handling skills, including cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets, with an intuitive sense for identifying incorrect or inconsistent data.
