About the Role
The American Housing Corporation is dedicated to addressing America's housing crisis through large-scale production. We are seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to oversee the manufacturing and assembly of our proprietary building system, a kit-of-parts designed for high-quality housing.
Responsibilities
- Own the factory as the product, including layout, equipment procurement, buildout, commissioning, and optimization.
- Build and lead a team of engineers, manufacturing specialists, and technicians.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering and architecture teams to refine the kit-of-parts for manufacturability.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and approvals for manufacturing facilities.
- Manage supply chain, quality, assembly, and delivery.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure the impact of engineering and manufacturing decisions on building quality and cost.
- Manage the manufacturing budget and project future capital requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in hardware development.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong technical background in mechanical design, structural analysis, DFMA, and production.
- Proven experience delivering large complex hardware products from low-rate prototypes to full-rate production.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
