About the Role
Health Link Home Health & Hospice is seeking a Director of HR to build and manage the HR function end-to-end across its three branches. This is a strategic role focused on designing systems, setting standards, and owning outcomes in hiring, retention, and development.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including requisitions, sourcing strategy, vendor and job board spend, and interview design.
- Oversee employee relations, including investigations, corrective action, and separations.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook, ensuring consistent application.
- Ensure compliance with federal, California, and San Francisco employment laws.
- Manage healthcare-specific compliance, including licensure tracking, exclusion screening, background checks, and mandatory training.
- Administer onboarding, benefits, leave, and accommodation processes.
- Lead workforce planning, retention strategy, and manage the HR and recruiting budget.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including employee relations and compliance.
- Direct experience managing full-cycle hiring, a recruiting budget, and vendor relationships.
- Working knowledge of California and federal employment law.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and document workplace investigations.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between branches.
Skills
- Home health, hospice, or multi-site healthcare experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with healthcare employment compliance (preferred)
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR (preferred)
Location
- San Francisco, CA (HQ-based)
- Travel to branches in San Francisco, the East Bay, and the South Bay

- $140,000–$180,000 per year, DOE
