About the Role

The IT Program Manager collaborates with senior leadership to define, analyze, design, and lead programs aligned with strategic objectives, ensuring program success. This role manages program scope, resources, schedule, and budget, providing regular reports to leadership. The IT Program Manager also leads business analysts and project managers to manage program dependencies, issues, and risks, and may manage complex or strategic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, lead, and manage IT programs to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage and lead business analysts and project managers assigned to projects within programs.
  • Create and communicate coordinated plans for each program, setting clear expectations for roles and responsibilities.
  • Perform project reviews to manage dependencies, identify risk mitigation plans, and resolve issues.
  • Act as the first escalation point for project-related issues within a program.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients and vendors, to keep them informed of progress and issues.
  • Report on programs regularly to senior leadership and recommend potential changes.
  • Assist PMO manager in reviewing new requests, determining assignments, administering project management software, and identifying process improvements.
  • Collaborate to create and maintain program and project documents.
  • Negotiate with department leaders to acquire necessary resources for programs and/or projects.
  • Provide project management and leadership for complex or strategic projects within a program.
  • Facilitate the PMO integrated change control process for programs and projects.
  • Analyze lessons learned and share with relevant team members and customers.
  • Review contract conditions for assigned programs and/or projects and ensure compliance.
  • Act as the point of contact for all internal and external program or project communication and documentation.
  • Manage all resource/expenditures based on project budget and communicate issues impacting profitability.
  • Manage or facilitate the testing and training of new applications, systems, and/or infrastructure.
  • Ensure program and project team activities and decisions are clearly communicated and documented.
  • Mentor PMO team members in leadership, methodology, processes, tools, people skills, and navigating politics.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • 8 years of IT project management experience or 2 years of IT program management experience.
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project, Visio.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted)
