Responsibilities

- Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, analysts, and other relevant influencers
- Develop thoughtful pitches and identify timely media angles tied to client priorities, industry trends, and breaking news
- Pitch announcements and proactive stories, follow up strategically, and help drive consistent media results
- Draft and edit pitches, press releases, briefing documents, award submissions, social copy, and other client-facing materials
- Build targeted media lists and conduct research that uncovers new reporters, outlets, trends, and storytelling opportunities
- Monitor client, competitor, industry, and cultural news to identify opportunities and risks before they become obvious
- Communicate directly with clients through meetings, email, and Slack, providing clear updates and helping move work forward
- Manage action items, timelines, agendas, activity trackers, coverage reports, and other core account materials
- Prepare executives for media opportunities by developing briefing materials and supporting interviews
- Collaborate with account leads and teammates to execute integrated campaigns across earned, owned, and social channels
- Contribute ideas and research to brainstorms, strategic planning, new business pitches, and agency initiatives
- Support and collaborate with junior teammates, sharing context and feedback that helps the entire team produce stronger work
- Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, media intelligence, and content production efficiency
Requirements
- 2–3 years of public relations, communications, or integrated marketing experience, preferably within an agency environment
- Prior experience supporting technology clients strongly preferred, particularly across AI, enterprise technology, B2B, consumer tech, or other innovation-driven sectors
- Demonstrated media relations experience, including pitching reporters and contributing to meaningful earned media results
- Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills across a range of formats
- An understanding of what makes a compelling story and the curiosity to connect client priorities to the broader news cycle
- Confidence communicating with clients and taking increasing ownership of projects and deliverables
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing quality
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, thoughtful work
- A proactive, solutions-first mindset—you flag opportunities and challenges early and take ownership of moving work forward
