About the Role
A Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for providing patient-centered care and facilitating patient access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient manner. This role involves communicating with a diverse population using well-developed interpersonal skills and managing all aspects of the registration and appointment process. The staff member plays an integral role in the medical care team as the access point for patients to receive care and performs job duties in compliance with systems and job-specific standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily reception activities and ensure that all processes needed for patient services are initiated.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients all aspects of service.
- Responsible for telephone and mail contact with patients.
- Responsible for the scheduling of appointments, fee collection, and explanation of services and charges for patient services.
- Distribute materials to patients, including patient satisfaction cards and patient rights information.
- Verify all insurance and set fees based on the sliding scale fee.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma/GED.
- 2-4 years of work-related experience.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.
