About the Role
The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampooers.
- Vacuum rugs and spot clean daily, shampooing when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash interior windows, doors, and partitions.
- Clean bathrooms, restock supplies, and perform standard bathroom cleaning procedures.
- Monitor for and report defects such as clogged urinals and lights out.
- Collect and dispose of building trash daily.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
- Shovel snow from steps, walkways, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
- Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
