About the Role
This role focuses on bridging the gap between developer tools and infrastructure telemetry, specifically for AI model training. The Staff Product Manager will own the strategy and execution for products at this intersection, including job submission, compute orchestration, infrastructure insights, and automated research workflows, leveraging the combined capabilities of W&B and CoreWeave. The goal is to build infrastructure-native developer tools that take advantage of the integrated platform and directly accelerate deep learning workflows.
Responsibilities
- Define and ship infrastructure-native products that leverage the integration between W&B's experiment tracking and CoreWeave's infrastructure platform.
- Identify high-value opportunities in the product design space, build conviction, and drive the roadmap from concept through launch and iteration.
- Own W&B Launch and evolve it to serve as the orchestration layer for agentic and automated research workflows.
- Spend significant time with foundation model builders to understand their workflows, infrastructure management, debugging, computation orchestration, and automation processes.
- Partner with CoreWeave's infrastructure and platform teams to identify integration opportunities and with W&B's engineering teams to build products.
- Find and resolve friction points in job submission, compute management, and infrastructure observability workflows.
- Evaluate new product concepts at the hardware-software boundary, such as profiling, environments, automation, and agents, and drive promising ones from zero to one.
Requirements
- 7+ years as a product manager working on developer tools, deep learning infrastructure, or ML engineer platforms.
- Experience taking a technical product from conception to production, including defining success criteria, measuring effectiveness, and iterating.
- Comfortable discussing Kubernetes, SLURM, job scheduling, hyperparameter optimization algorithms, and API design with engineers and AI researchers.
- Skilled at managing and influencing AI engineers, software engineers, and stakeholders to align teams and drive outcomes.
- Ability to bring clarity and organization to complex, fast-moving environments.
- Strong opinions about products and a high bar for developer experience.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX), distributed training, or LLM development workflows is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SLURM or Kubernetes for GPU-intensive workloads is preferred.
- Prior exposure to W&B or other experiment-tracking and model management platforms is preferred.
- Understanding of hyperparameter optimization methods and evaluation workflows for large models is preferred.
- Outgoing and user-focused, enjoying connecting with users and helping them solve issues.
- Self-directed and willing to take risks, proactively finding solutions and improving processes.
- Hands-on with AI, experimenting with generative AI and staying updated with AI/LLM advancements.
- Passionate about developer experience and building tools that help AI practitioners accelerate their work.
- This position requires access to export controlled information and applicants must meet U.S. Government export regulations.
