About the Role
Miller Transportation Group is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic Technician for its Miller Truck Leasing division in Albany, NY. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles, both in the shop and on the road, supporting customers within a 50-60 mile radius of Albany.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles in the shop or on the road
- Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software, following proper warranty procedures
- Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
- Replace clutches and transmissions
- Start and finish each day in the Albany shop and support Miller Truck Leasing customers within a 50-60 mile radius of Albany with use of a company truck
- Perform Vehicle Condition Reports (DVCR's) on all trucks and perform required work at customer locations throughout the area
Requirements
- 3 or more years working as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
- A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainer
- Possession of hand tools
- Ability to work Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM
- Experience working on Refrigeration Units is desired (ThermoKing or Carrier)
