About the Role

Responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of investments for clients, utilizing approved strategies and managing portfolios. This role is integral to client relationships, with involvement in client communication determined by unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to and accepts direction from the Chief Investment Officer.
  • Performs trading, rebalancing, and other portfolio management services in accordance with Investment Policy Committee guidelines.
  • Supports client acquisition, business development, and retention efforts through participation in prospect meetings and relationship reviews.
  • Participates in investment meetings and contributes research, analysis, observations, and recommendations.
  • Reviews and interprets portfolio and benchmark performance results, identifying key drivers and analyzing attribution.
  • Utilizes approved performance and risk reports for portfolio management and client communications.
  • Stays up to date on the current monetary, fiscal, and economic environment and their implications on financial markets.
  • Presents portfolio reviews, investment recommendations, and market commentary to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Conducts research projects as needed.
  • Completes annual account reviews.
  • Completes ad hoc projects as determined by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant financial services experience, preferably with a bank, or 3 years of experience directly managing investments.
  • Accreditation from the CFA Institute or Chartered Market Technician CMT, or willingness to work to achieve is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of Modern Portfolio Theory, Adaptive Market Theory, fiduciary responsibilities, and investment policy implementation.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems.
  • Interest in emerging investment technologies, artificial intelligence applications, automation tools, and data-driven analytical techniques.
  • Self-motivated professional capable of exercising sound judgment with appropriate supervision and guidance.
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis for new opportunities and/or client meetings.
