About the Role
Serves as the primary resource for team members, maintaining and enhancing operations by coaching, instructing, and coordinating activities to achieve desired operational metrics. Trains new personnel in quality and safety, providing performance feedback.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support Plating, Polishing, Assembly, and other production areas with approximately 75% on the floor time.
- Instruct and coordinate the activities and job assignments of team members.
- Maintain time and production documentation.
- Facilitate communication among team members, including turnover meetings and ongoing communication.
- Train and develop operators on line work instructions, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Provide performance feedback to assist new operators in skill development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for their teams.
- Monitor and direct operator performance to continually develop skills and safe work habits.
- Ensure adherence to established quality procedures, product quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Continuously monitor lines for productivity and quality improvements.
- Operate lines adhering to established quality procedures.
- Monitor production processes to identify productivity and quality improvements.
- Ensure team participation and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Provide leadership with productivity initiatives (Lean/BCI).
- Participate in the selection and interviewing of new team members.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Enforce and reinforce company policies and practices.
- Manage all appropriate paperwork for the area.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste (recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc.).
- Adhere to environmental responsibility commitments.
- Handle potential contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Perform other tasks as required to fulfill company beliefs and drivers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years direct supervision and leadership experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Interpersonal communication skills necessary.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to communicate with, supervise, lead, and motivate a culturally diverse work setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills required.
- Must be able to perform physical functions equivalent to Category B (Medium Labor Intensive Category).
