About the Role
The Developer Platform team builds cloud-native, self-service developer infrastructure to support over 600 developers at Verily. This role involves creating a fast, scalable, and secure developer journey through integrated AI, IDE extensions, application templates, developer portals, and CI/CD capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own the implementation for a significant platform capability or set of capabilities.
- Participate in the design and development of capabilities leveraging state-of-the-art cloud-native open source components (e.g. Kubernetes, VSCode, Backstage, Terraform) and cutting-edge AI.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members contributing to objectives.
- Drive execution through high-quality implementation and set an example of best practices in code health and production (e.g. monitoring, frequent releases, reliable CI).
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in software development with 3+ years experience developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure products and services in production in Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
- Prior experience with cloud technologies: Google Cloud Platform/Amazon Web Services/Azure or other cloud providers, GitHub Actions, VSCode, Kubernetes, Backstage, or related tools.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design with strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills in scenarios like discussing a new feature, investigating a customer issue, and articulating next steps and blockers in a task.
