About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with faculty, staff, and an Academy Award-winning film producer, director, and writer in the School of Motion Picture and Television. The Federal Work Study Assistant Set Decorator reports to the Shop Manager and handles daily tasks related to the shop, prop rooms, set design, and studio operations.
Responsibilities
- Report daily to the shop manager regarding shop and studio related tasks.
- Assist the shop manager in tracking shop and set related tasks.
- Help the shop manager and set designer arrange studio spaces for shoots, including painting, moving furniture, and operating shop equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and set design room.
- Ensure prop rooms are organized and clean.
- Report any potential hazards in the studios directly to the shop and department manager.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended hours.
- Ability to carry, lift, and move furniture.
