Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in the Westchester office and support the Ortho Now program.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and assist in obtaining patient data in Epic.
- Support the department by obtaining vital signs, lab specimens (skin biopsy, venipuncture), and EKGs as needed.
- Prepare specimens for the lab and ensure hand-off to courier.
- Foster efficient patient throughput, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain an organized professional environment.
- Assist the physician in treatments and procedures and ensure physician orders are completed promptly.
- Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
- Prepare patients for exams and orient patient/family to the environment.
- Assist with disinfecting exam rooms and other clinical workspaces between patient use.
- Assist patients with wayfinding and transport throughout the site.
- Assist in managing patient information, uploading CD images, and making copies of pertinent exams.
- Assist with patient rooming tasks, including medical history, vital signs, and other measurements.
- Assist with stocking exam rooms.
- Ensure patient care areas are neat and presentable.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and staff.
- Respond to patient, visitor, and staff inquiries.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or previous member of armed medical corps.
- BLS Certification.
