About the Role

The Identity team operates critical backend services powering the Zeta Identity Graph. This role involves engineering distributed architectures to manage a large profile store while maintaining low latencies for billions of monthly events. The Senior Software Engineer will optimize existing systems and architect the next-generation platform.

Responsibilities

Design and build backend services and APIs for identity resolution, graph transparency, and platform integrations.
Optimize event-driven pipelines processing billions of signals.
Deploy and operate cloud-native services on EKS/Kubernetes using Helm.
Ensure absolute reliability, observability, and scalability across services and data pipelines.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver identity solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in backend and/or data engineering at enterprise scale.
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in API design and distributed systems.
Experience with Kafka, streaming frameworks (Spark/Hive/Flink), and schedulers (Airflow/Luigi).
Proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS cloud deployment practices.
Knowledge of SQL, complex data modeling, and high-throughput NoSQL/columnar databases (Aerospike, Snowflake, Scylla, etc.).
