About the Role
Firmware is the critical layer connecting software to hardware, making real-time decisions to ensure grid stability, hardware protection, and continuous power supply. As a firmware engineering intern, you will contribute to the low-level software for batteries and inverters, gaining hands-on embedded systems experience and shipping code that impacts real users and power flows.
Responsibilities
- Build core firmware, including design, implementation, and testing in C/C++ on bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux systems.
- Develop and debug device drivers, communication interfaces, and low-level system behavior, including reading schematics and datasheets.
- Contribute to fleet-critical systems such as high-rate telemetry, automated fault detection, reliable communications, fast commissioning, and grid-balancing control loops.
- Write reliable, deterministic, and safe code under real-world constraints where timing and physical consequences are critical.
- Collaborate with hardware, power electronics, and platform software engineers to solve integration problems and deliver robust end-to-end behavior.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of C/C++, embedded systems concepts, and basic computer architecture.
- Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, sensor integration, robotics, power electronics, or other embedded systems through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Familiarity with timing diagrams, interrupts, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware debugging.
- Clear, concise communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
