About the Role
Payments Canada is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk management approaches for payment systems, aligning with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program. This role involves supporting risk management within strategic programs, contributing to policies and procedures, and conducting risk analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the payment product risk approach.
- Lead the development and implementation of organization-wide training and change management tools/materials for the ERM program.
- Guide and support business units on ERM Program adoption.
- Provide oversight and effective challenge to ensure risks associated with payment systems, initiatives, and projects are effectively managed.
- Support and contribute to Enterprise Risk Reporting activities, including identification and management of emerging risks and review of risk appetite metrics.
- Conduct research and analysis on risk issues and provide recommendations.
- Participate in project teams to provide risk analysis and subject matter expertise.
- Provide support on risk-focused projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Communicate and collaborate with risk management leaders internally and externally to gather information and stay updated on developments.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business/commerce or analytics (business analytics, finance, accounting, information systems, process management, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in risk management, process management, and business analytics/reporting.
- Strong relationship management, presentation, and thought leadership skills.
- Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies/processes, and best practices.
- Ability to effectively influence and constructively challenge stakeholders.
- Experience applying risk management practices to complex projects/initiatives.
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks (criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education).

- Ability to develop and deliver messaging at a technical and executive level
- Develops, implements and enhances methodologies in areas of expertise
- Ability to support risk analysis with supporting research and/or data points
- Critical reasoning, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High degree of initiative and creativity
- Experience with BI and GRC tools (ServiceNow, Tableau, Smartsheet, etc) is considered as an asset
