About the Role
Develop and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for finished goods, from concept through supplier selection and performance management. This role is key to driving innovation, building a robust supplier network, and impacting bottom-line profitability by managing the full lifecycle of third-party manufactured products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for finished goods categories aligned with company growth, innovation, and financial targets.
- Build and optimize a scalable co-manufacturer and third-party supplier network, identifying capability gaps and proposing risk mitigation plans.
- Design and manage supplier segmentation frameworks, Supplier Business Reviews, and performance governance.
- Partner with Product, Culinary, Operations, FSQA, and Commercial teams to translate new product concepts into sourced, qualified, and manufacturable finished goods.
- Own the end-to-end finished goods sourcing process for new product development, including identification, RFP, qualification, pilot runs, FSQA sign-off, negotiation, and commercialization.
- Balance customer experience, operational complexity, food safety, and total cost of ownership when onboarding new SKUs and partners.
- Manage individual sourcing contributions to annual business planning and team financial targets.
- Implement cost optimization initiatives and execute supplier negotiations to improve margins.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract management for mid to high value agreements.
- Execute proactive risk management and supply continuity strategies across assigned suppliers and partners.
- Hold suppliers accountable through established performance metrics, service level agreements, and corrective action programs.
- Proactively manage and resolve day-to-day operational, quality, and supply conflicts.
- Drive continuous improvement of sourcing processes, supplier onboarding frameworks, and category management guidelines.
- Leverage data and analytics to build data-driven solutions and inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage the scope, timeline, and execution of strategic sourcing projects autonomously.
- Connect daily sourcing decisions and negotiations to broader department strategies and corporate objectives.
- Manage uncertainty independently by developing actionable solutions to complex problems.
- Manage interactions with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, and FSQA.
- Influence project outcomes and decisions without direct authority.
- Act as a recognized subject matter expert within your respective category.
- Proactively take ownership of career path and dedicate time to mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Critically challenge the outcome of other team members' work and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain operations.
- Direct experience sourcing finished goods, managing co-manufacturers, or commercializing new products through third-party manufacturing partners in the food or consumer goods industry.
- A track record of successfully leading large initiatives and sourcing events through strategic sourcing processes.
- Experience with high value contract negotiations.
- Flexibility to travel as needed (up to 20%).

- $102,000—$138,000 USD (New York)
- $95,000—$129,000 USD (Colorado)
