About the Role
This role offers students a chance to learn the ins-and-outs of digital marketing and corporate communications in a rapidly changing industry environment, including both earned and unearned programs, from Battery team members with decades of experience at large PR firms and national journalism publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Forbes. The role will focus on digital content; strategic events; community building; email marketing; social media; and PR/comms. The intern will be a mature self-starter comfortable working in person and over Zoom with colleagues in the Battery marketing department as well as other parts of the company.
Responsibilities
- Help with firmwide events, including planning, managing RSVPs, executing campaigns to help drive event attendance, preparing event collateral, and providing some on-site support.
- Content-marketing and thought-leadership work, including making website and blog updates in WordPress.
- Help with design, videos, and social-media content.
- Manage critical marketing databases tracking portfolio executives and journalists, and conduct research to keep them current.
- Help manage online Slack communities.
- Research brand-building activities for Battery and its portfolio companies, including industry speaking opportunities and awards.
Requirements
- Students best suited for this internship will be liberal-arts majors studying in areas such as Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism and English.
- This is not a marketing internship for students who want hands-on investing experience.
- Must be a mature self-starter comfortable working in person and over Zoom with colleagues in the Battery marketing department as well as other parts of the company.
Skills
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, WordPress, Constant Contact and other CRM systems is a plus.
- Fluency in popular social media platforms is a plus.
