About the Role
This internship offers a practical application of classroom and technical training within the reinsurance industry. Interns will be coached by experienced professionals, exposed to leadership, challenged as valuable team members, and mentored to develop foundational skills for future leadership in the data science field.
Responsibilities
- Support technical implementation with clients, including client-facing and internal process flows, requirements gathering and validation, and documentation.
- Promote client satisfaction by providing insights, investigating and solving client-raised problems, and documenting client feedback for sales and leadership.
- Support the product lifecycle by collaborating with risk specialists and data scientists to plan, develop, and implement new features and platform improvements.
- Support testing and implementation of new features with clients to ensure accuracy and avoid disruption.
- Collaborate across Munich Re functions to understand how solutions address business needs.
- Network with related groups at Munich Re.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to express complex ideas clearly and facilitate communication between clients and internal teams.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, SQL.
- Experience with software engineering best practices.
- Solid communication skills; spoken & written, formal/informal presentation.
- Resourceful and able to learn quickly.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Previous exposure to insurance or financial services environment (preferred).
- Must be a current student returning to in-class studies upon internship completion.
- Expected to relocate to the greater New York area.
