About the Role
Shepherd Village is seeking a Part-Time Casual Receptionist to provide warm greetings and customer service assistance to residents, visitors, and staff. This role involves performing various administrative functions and ensuring residents receive excellent care and services, supporting their comfort, independence, and involvement in decisions.
Responsibilities
- Greet residents, visitors, and staff warmly, both in person and over the telephone.
- Provide calm customer service assistance, answer inquiries, and direct people appropriately.
- Perform a variety of administrative functions.
- Ensure residents receive excellent care and services, including those with memory impairment/dementia.
- Increase residents' comfort, independence, and control in their lives and involvement in decisions.
- Support families' and the community's involvement in residents' lives.
- Positively influence and motivate everyone encountered.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Manage phone calls, visitors, and general inquiries.
- Support the Management Team with administrative tasks.
- Handle payments, mail sorting, and guest suite bookings.
- Assist with Maintenance/Housekeeping requests and staff call-ins.
- Notify Managers of resident deaths and distribute deliveries.
Requirements
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally.
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
- Must be available for a minimum of four (4) shifts per month, with at least two (2) of those shifts being on weekends.
