About the Role
This multifaceted position is responsible for developing strategic sales and marketing plans to meet gross margin objectives. It plays a pivotal role in the design direction, product development, and merchandising of assigned brands.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of brands to raise their perceived value.
- Ensure brands meet company sales, pricing, and margin goals.
- Conduct competitive pricing analysis and present findings to management.
- Position Revman's brands against competitors regarding design, price, and value.
- Create a "good-better-best" pricing structure for internal use.
- Complete margin analysis reports and ensure programs meet budgeted margin goals.
- Present programs not meeting margin goals to VP of Merchandising for approval.
- Collaborate with the operations team to reduce the Cost of Goods Sold.
- Establish and maintain an Open-to-Buy (OTB) by product category for each season's assortment.
- Establish target pricing for the product management team.
- Serve as a liaison between international partners and the organization/brands.
- Create innovative content for an optimal online shopping experience, including A+ detail pages.
- Reduce customer returns by analyzing reasons and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and manage each season’s Merchandising Line Plan in teams.
- Manage showroom budget, brand direction, and showroom execution.
- Liaise with Brand on all approvals, including product, photography, packaging, and marketing.
- Develop packaging concepts for all business tiers to ensure retail success.
- Create and upload copy for all products developed for e-commerce.
- Coordinate, approve, and complete all photography and video within budget.
- Conduct quarterly assortment meetings with sales, product managers, design, and planning to review business trends.
- Conduct handoff meetings for design and PDA to ensure proper development flow.
- Monitor retail successes/failures and wholesale sales by patterns weekly, providing analysis to the VP of Merchandising.
- Develop a bi-annual business plan for Senior Management, including quantitative analysis, competitive landscape, industry considerations, distribution, and pricing.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure on-time brand development.
- Create and maintain development, sold products, and transitions for inline and international lifecycles in PLM.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the brand for 3rd tier approvals, documenting and uploading approvals.
- Provide feedback and assistance to the Planning department regarding production minimums and costs.
- Collaborate with sales to ensure understanding of product placements and minimums, strategizing backdoor strategies if necessary.
- Manage brand reporting as specified by each brand's stipulation.
- Manage packaging photography shoots, providing direction to the studio and on-spot product approvals.
- Coordinate product/timing with each brand for their marketing asset photo shoot by season.
- Work with the assigned brand on all packaging approvals.
- Publish a seasonal price list and update the Brand Current assortment quarterly.
- Monitor the success of the assigned brand.
- Attend weekly line calendar meetings.
- Attend internal bi-weekly meetings and monthly retail customer meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising/Marketing or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of five years of previous experience in a brand management, marketing, or retail position.
- Minimum of four years of buying line exposure and understanding of retail cycles.
- Knowledge of the competitive market is vital.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in PLM.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
