About the Role
Girls United is seeking a Lead Coach for their U9 Purple team, responsible for delivering structured, age-appropriate training sessions and matchday experiences. This role involves supporting and developing players, working with the existing team, and contributing to a positive community environment through football.
Responsibilities
- Attend sessions, events, and fixtures as agreed with the FC Programme Lead.
- Oversee and support assistant coaches in delivering sessions.
- Build rapport and trust with players and young people to ensure continued engagement.
- Collaborate with other team members, including volunteers and staff.
- Maintain positive relationships with community groups and partner organisations.
- Support the wider team in developing new ideas, programmes, and growth opportunities.
- Involvement in fixture programmes, including league administration, officiating, and player assistance.
Requirements
- Experience working in grassroots football with young women and girls.
- Experience delivering training sessions and a fixture programme.
- Experience with league administration, including match cards, player cards, and match reports.
- Ability to work with an assistant coach.
- Confident communication skills to build positive rapport with players, parents, venues, schools, and funders.
- Effective time management and punctuality for administration and session attendance.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings and weekends.
