About the Role

The Higher Education Analyst provides analytical, research, and transactional support for debt capital markets activities, including mergers & acquisitions, asset/infrastructure monetization, and public-private partnerships for academic institutions. Analysts are integral to banking teams, supporting a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research, analytics, and financial modeling for transactions.
  • Produce extensive financial analyses for structuring bond offerings.
  • Prepare projections, bond/loan portfolio analysis, and related financial modeling.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze information for proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in client presentations on financing alternatives and underwriting capabilities.
  • Develop an understanding of economic and political forces affecting higher education and bond markets.
  • Enhance the department’s market information resources by collecting and organizing materials.
  • Coordinate activities related to pricing and settlement of bond financings, ensuring timely closings.
  • Develop data and analytical processing skills and proficiency in modeling software.
  • Identify operational risks and control deficiencies.
  • Comply with Firm Policies applicable to business activities.
  • Escalate identified operational risks, loss events, and control deficiencies promptly.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics with a demonstrated record of high achievement.
  • Related professional financial services experience.
  • Prior experience with public-private partnerships, asset and infrastructure monetization, and mergers & acquisitions is preferred.
  • Highly motivated, committed, and responsible, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently while also possessing strong team skills.
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
