About the Role
Base is seeking a Deployment Operations Specialist (Product Launch) to manage the programs that transition new hardware from pilot to full-scale deployment. This role involves owning the rollout plan, coordinating cross-functional teams, and tracking progress and issues to ensure successful product launches.
Responsibilities
- Own the cross-functional rollout plan for new hardware products, tracking from early pilot to broad public launch and flagging risks/blockers.
- Drive new product readiness across Deployments teams: field operations, training, logistics, warehousing.
- Chase down open items that slip.
- Coordinate pilot builds and installs, including scheduling, materials, crew assignments, and permitting.
- Evolve pilot processes for deployment at scale.
- Run intake for field issues on new and in-pilot hardware, routing issues to the right engineering owner and tracking to resolution.
- Write and maintain playbooks, field-facing instructions, and issue logs.
- Author weekly program updates for engineering and leadership, detailing progress, open items, and risks.
Requirements
- 2+ years in technical program management, project coordination, or operations.
- Comfort with technical detail, including following engineering conversations and accurately documenting defects.
- Strong documentation habits for schedules, issue logs, and playbooks.
- Clear written communication skills for status updates and escalations.
- Ability to remain organized under pressure and track multiple shifting priorities.
- Comfortable with tools like Jira, Grafana, or Retool, or able to learn them quickly.
- A 4-year degree, or equivalent hands-on operations or field experience.
