About the Role

The Energy & Sustainability Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive energy management and decarbonization programs for clients, focusing on energy savings, carbon footprint reduction, and utility cost optimization.

Responsibilities

Conduct facility energy audits and technical reviews to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and retrofits.
Evaluate technical viability, risk, lifecycle costs (LCCA), and ROI for proposed projects.
Draft technical project scopes for capital retrofits and operational improvements.
Implement Measurement & Verification (M&V) frameworks to validate performance and report savings.
Identify and secure external utility rebates and government decarbonization grants.
Manage energy data collection and produce client-specific reports.
Analyze energy consumption patterns to establish baselines and identify anomalies.
Audit utility bills for rate structure optimization, demand charge reduction, and billing errors.
Prepare energy consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reports for corporate disclosure.
Provide data support and technical documentation for external audits.
Support corporate reporting on utility use and environmental impact.
Partner with Site Facility Managers to conduct operational reviews and assess BAS operation.
Recommend continuous improvement strategies for energy intensity reduction.
Educate and guide stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics.
Develop decarbonization roadmaps and strategic plans to achieve client carbon reduction goals.
Drive operational improvements to enhance energy and sustainability performance across portfolios.
Develop and enhance systems and processes for best practice sustainability performance.
Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices and develop new business opportunities.
Provide technical training and mentor junior colleagues.
Lead the technical support team to solve complex problems and plan deadlines.

Requirements

University Degree in Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields.
Specialized technical understanding of common HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems.
Advanced understanding of energy conservation measures.
Strong ability to analyze corporate portfolios by benchmarking and reviewing utility data.
Advanced understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting.
Familiarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy options.
Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others.
Experienced conducting site walkthroughs for conservation measures (e.g. ASHRAE Level 1 and 2).
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Experience conducting technical and feasibility reviews including LCCA and ROI evaluation.
Experience implementing M&V frameworks and performance tracking systems.
Knowledge of utility rebate programs and government decarbonization grant opportunities.
Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders.
Specialized knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management, energy budgets, and ISO 14001 compliance.
Experience working with multifunctional teams.
Ability to manage small teams of energy & sustainability professionals.
